King For A Day was formed in April 2004 and are based around Broomfield, Colorado. We play an original brand of acoustic brit-pop with a hint of folk/rock thrown in for good measure. Kind of like the Monkees meeting Oasis at a party thrown by the Kinks. If you find the description confusing, check us out live. It may not clear up the confusion, but we will entertain you.
The band consists of Simon Levene, who supplies the vocals, groovy electric and tortured acoustic guitars, as well as most of the songs. Simon claims to come from Manchester, England. This, however, is unconfirmed.
John Sahs, a highly talented drummer who was discovered beside his vintage kit humming almost-forgotten Beatles tunes. He provides the danceable beats and sexy fills. And "backing vocals" projected from his massive beard.
Vic Jannatpour contributes infectious energy, tasty guitar licks and lilting backing vocals. He brings his sublime green Les Paul (among other beautiful guitars) to our array of instruments. He also dances like a dream.
Dan Sheck has the bass in his very blood stream, and was quietly hijacked from one or more of the forty-eight bands with which he is known to socialize in order to provide the bottom for KFAD. He also sings, but only if we beg and plead.
